When should I put a frame around an image?
When the photograph is busy at its edges, since the frame contains it; when you are gathering several images, since it unifies them; and when you want a heritage or nostalgic character. Do not frame a simple clean image, where it adds noise for nothing, and keep the frame's thickness even on all four sides. Andalusi has paper and ornamental frames ready.
Which frame types exist and where do they suit?

How thick should a frame be?
A tenth to a sixth of the image's width in most cases; too thin and it goes unseen, too thick and it swallows the picture. Make the bottom margin slightly deeper than the other three if you will write a caption or date beneath, and keep text off the frame itself. Andalusi sets those proportions in its frame templates.
Where are frames used besides around photographs?
