How did Andalusi start?
Arabic designers wanted tools that understood their language and their culture: letters that join the way they should, text that starts from the right, and templates that fit our occasions and our taste. Those tools did not exist.
In 2017 we started with the simplest thing possible: one image and one line of text. Even that was not simple in Arabic, so we had to build the foundation from scratch: technology that treats Arabic script properly.
From there Andalusi grew year after year into a complete design platform used by millions across the Arab world. Apple named Andalusi App of the Day.
And we did not stop at the phone. Andalusi is now a full platform, with a web version released in beta. The name was not incidental: Al-Andalus is where Arabic craft met the most advanced technique of its time, and that is what we are trying to repeat.
