Carpet Pattern Designs

What are these?
Full-bleed designs made of woven carpet and oriental ornament. You can set text over one and use it as a background, or leave it as it is, because the pattern itself is the design.

Which patterns are included?

  • Geometric kilim weaves

  • Persian rugs with a central medallion

  • Moroccan zellige and eight-point star tiling

  • Berber motifs in earth tones

  • Prayer rugs with the mihrab arch

What do you use them for?
As the background of a greeting card or invitation with a traditional character, as the background of a post or story, or as a phone wallpaper. They are vertical, which suits all three.

الأسئلة الشائعة

What is a carpet-pattern card and where is it used?
A card carrying an oriental carpet motif with its colours and symmetry as a background or border. It suits invitations with a heritage character, Islamic occasion cards, majlis settings, Ramadan designs and Arabic hospitality cards. Use it when you want an authentic character without relying on calligraphy alone. Andalusi has carpet motifs ready in several colourways.
How do I use a carpet motif without crowding the card?
Make it a border around the text or a band along one edge rather than covering the whole card, or fade it where it fills the background. Never set text directly over it; put a solid colour panel behind the words. An oriental motif is rich in detail and swallows anything written on it. Andalusi's templates fix the motif, the border and the text area.
Which colours suit oriental carpet designs?
Deep red, dark blue, gold and cream are the traditional set, with emerald green and brown alongside. Use one of them for the text and leave the rest to the motif, and avoid adding vivid modern colours, which break the heritage character. Andalusi has palettes drawn from oriental carpets.
Which occasions suit carpet-pattern cards?
Ramadan and both Eids, invitations to a majlis or a feast, congratulating a returning pilgrim, invitations with a Gulf or heritage character, and hospitality cards in event halls. They do not suit simple modern occasions such as children's parties or product launches. Andalusi has carpet templates for each of these.
