Where exactly should a sparkle go?

How many sparkles can a design take?
Three at most, at different sizes: one large and two small. Equal sizes read as a repeated pattern rather than light, and the variation is what suggests the light is real.

What background shows light effects?
Dark ones, because light needs darkness around it to register. On light backgrounds a sparkle vanishes no matter how much you enlarge it, which is the commonest problem with these elements.
Can I change a sparkle's colour?
Yes. Adjust each effect's colour inside Andalusi. Keep it close to the colour of whatever it shines on, since white light over a gold element looks foreign to it.
Do these work in video?
Yes, place them over the shot in Andalusi, but anchor them to something that does not move much. A static sparkle over a moving element visually detaches and gives itself away.
